THE HOUSE THAT WILL NOT STAND
The House That Will Not Stand is a play by Marcus Gardley that explores the complexities of family, legacy, and societal expectations within a New Orleans Creole community from the late 19th century. Set in the 1930s, the story centers around a wealthy Creole family led by a matriarch who faces personal and social challenges following her husband's death. As the family navigates power, inheritance, and identity issues, the play addresses the themes of race, gender, and the clash between old-world traditions and emerging new realities. Read more here…
